Sembabule Murder: Special forces killer sentenced to death by court martial
The Division Court Martial of the Special Forces Command(SFC) sitting yesterday in Sembabule town sentenced one police officer attached to the Police Presidential Guard (PPG).
Police Constable Canan Nkamuhebwa was condemned to death by the court chaired by Lt Col Moses Emeru which sat at the Sembabule District Headquarters .PC Nkamuhebwa was arrested Thursday evening in Sembabule town together with two others for murdering one Paul Tumukunde following a brawl.
Court heard that Nkamuhebwa shot two bullets in Tumukunde’s armpit, killing him instantly.The convict now on death row is reportedly an escort of a cousin of President Yoweri Museveni.The other two suspects L/Cpl Johnson Abasa and Pte Able Katsigazi who were with Nkamuhebwa were also found guiltyof abetting the crime and conspiracy. These were sentence to 15years for conspiracy and 40 years for abetting the crime respectively.The murder victim was a son of the area LC3 Chairperson Fred Kareke.
