Rotary club of Uganda starts campaign to collect over 2.3 billion shillings to equip Mengo blood ban
The Rotary club of Uganda has kick started a campaign to collect over 2.3bn shilling to equip the Mengo blood bank.
According to the chairman of the Rotary blood bank program Board, Emmanuel Katongole, the only one fully equipped National blood bank in Nakasero cannot handle the capacity of blood required hence the need to buy equipment to facilitate the Mengo blood bank to be in position to process and pack blood then give it out for use.
Katongole explains that the country needs 350, 000 units of blood annually but can only raise 250,000 hence there is always a gap of 100000 units.
The Rotarians hence have organized a Rotary Jaz concert due 7th March this year where they expect to raise more funds.
