‘The Punisher’ Gets Premiere Date, Debuts New Trailer
Netflix finally announces premiere date for Marvel’s new series “The Punisher”. Led by Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, the show will be available for streaming on November 17, which also happens to be the release date of DC’s movie “Justice League”.
To hype up the upcoming series, a new trailer is unleashed for viewing pleasure. It offers new glimpse at the antihero’s bloody journey for revenge after his family was slaughtered.
The “Punisher” premiere date was initially expected to be revealed during New York Comic-Con but the panel was cancelled in the wake of deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas. “After careful consideration, Netflix and Marvel have decided it wouldn’t be appropriate for Marvel’s ‘The Punisher’ to participate in New York Comic Con. Our thoughts continue to be with the victims and those affected by this tragedy,” it was announced.
The project was originally developed at FOX but it fell apart and eventually relocated to Netflix after Bernthal’s introduction as Frank Castle in the second season of “Daredevil” got positive feedback from fans.
On his solo show, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld after exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.
