Police training lacking – Kaweesi
The Director in charge of Human Resource Development in the Uganda Police Force, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Andrew Felix Kaweesi has admitted that the biggest challenge facing the law enforcement body is poor training of most of the officers.
The former commandant of Masindi Police Training School in Kabalye said this has hindered transformation of the force from the ancient to a professional one.
Kaweesi said this while opening a one week training course in combating illicit drugs at the police headquarters in Naguru.
He said that most of the officers tasked with fighting drug trafficking have no knowledge about what they are meant to fight which he said is a big problem hindering their works.
