Phone app could save you soon
Hub for investigative media has introduced an application in Uganda code named Panic Button, an application designed to be used in times of danger that enables you to call for rescue.
The application is programmed to send a particular message of your choice to three of your trusted contacts every time you press the phone’s power button until a long vibration is made.
Panic button has been introduced in Uganda on trial and it is the first African country to test the application.
Edward Ronald Sekyewa, the executive director Hub for investigative media speaking at a one day training in Mbarara Municipality yesterday at Sunshine Sunset hotel said the application is a good tool especially for journalists as it has come at a time the elections are closing in and violence is a fact.
