Parliament Wants Gov’t to Explain Evictions in Nakaseke
Parliament has directed two government ministries to explain land evictions involving a military officer in Nakaseke district.
The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, who was chairing the house yesterday, asked the Ministry of Lands and that of Defence to interrogate the situation in Nakaseke in which hundreds of people from Kinyogoga sub county are being evicted by Major John Mwesigwa, Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) officer.
Kadaga also wants the Minstry of Defense to report on the alleged intimidation by the officer. She calls upon the ministers to report on Tuesday next week.
