Parliament to discuss UPDF deployment in S.Sudan
Parliament has been recalled to discuss the UPDF deployment in South Sudan.
The parliament publicist, Hellen Kaweesa said that the house will sit on January 14, 2014, contrary to the official opening of February 4.
Earlier this week, Members of Parliament had embarked on collecting signatures recalling the House from recess to discuss government’s move in deploying UPDF in South Sudan without parliament’s approval which is contrary to article 210 of the constitution.
Legislators insisted that parliament has the mandate to approve the soldiers before they go for an outside assignment.
