Parliament Approves 367.2billion Supplementary Budget for Ministry of Defence
Parliament yesterday approved a supplementary budget for the Ministry of defense worth 367.2 billion shillings as an additional funding to cover shortfalls on different items.
The requested funds will cover special meals, fuel for land forces, medical products owed to private Hospitals, classified expenditure and fuel for air force.
The supplementary budget was approved during a session presided over by the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga after the vice chairperson of the Budget Committee
Wamakuyu Mudimi reported the committee approval of this allocation to parliament .
247 billion shillings will go to classified expenditure, 60 billion shillings for Special Meals ,22 billion shillings fuel for Land Forces ,24 billion shillings for clothing, 2 billion shillings will go to medical products from private hospital and 13 billion shillings for fuel and 13 billion for air force.
7.3 billion shillings is for Lands Ministry to cater for
payment of outstanding debts owed to Shelter Afrique by the National Housing and Construction Company.
