Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: Cardiff City have shown different side
Solskjaer says his team had a new beginning after the 4-0 home loss, adding they now face a two-month test of character and has revealed that the home loss to Hull City was a turning point during his time in charge.
Ahead of Saturday’s trip to Everton , Solskjaer labelled the scoreline against Steve Bruce’s men last month “embarrassing”.
He said he had been pleased with the response of his squad but stressed despite their morale-boosting 3-1 win over Fulham last week, there is no room for players to rest on their laurels.
He said: “The pressure is not off after win against Fulham, but three points does help the team and players.
“It brings more belief and it’s reward for hard work put in.
“A win is always good, but we know it’s going to be a two month test of character and team spirit.
“It was a great start in what was an important game against a team who are bottom. There were lots of positives, but nobody will relax now.
“We had a new beginning after the Hull game. We played some good football but the scoreline was embarrassing.
“It was a kick in the face, but we have shown a different side to us since. We have been better as a group.”
“There are still a lot of teams in the relegation fight. We feel and believe we have turned a corner now for the final run in.
“We’re taking plenty of fans to Goodison Park like we always do. It’s a first trip in over 30 years, you have to enjoy it.”
