Ntungamo district local gov’t hit by a number of ghost workers
Ntungamo district local government has been hit by a number of ghost workers who appear on the payrolls but are not workers in the district.
This was revealed by Fred Bamwine, the Ntungamo resident district commissioner yesterday while addressing journalists at his office in Ntungamo. Bamwine revealed that there are numerous names of people appearing on the payroll of the district but are not workers and that they have kept on drawing money from their accounts with the help of personnel officers.
Bamwine said that the vice is criminal and tasked all personnel officers to expeditiously find out the names of all Ghost workers and explain why they have been retained on the payrolls.
Bamwine further revealed that there is a tendency of teachers and medical personnel part timing in neighboring countries like Rwanda thereby abandoning their health units and schools which he said has affected the service delivery.
Fred Bamwine is a newly appointed RDC of Ntungamo who was from Mpigi.
