Ntungamo CSOs want policy on Domestic Violence
The civil society organizations (CSOs) in Ntungamo District have reiterated their call for the formulation of gender based violence policy to fight against the increase of domestic violence in the District.
According to Community Engagement officer of Uganda Network on law Ethics and HIV/AIDS (UGANET) Ntungamo branch , Assumpta Kyakunzeire this would be the best option to help women and men who are being traumatized but remain in silence.
Kyakunzeire said many young women have been buttered by their spouses but nothing has been done due to absence of policies in the District.
Meanwhile, the manager Advocacy for better health for Bushenyi and Ntungamo districts Baherezibwa Edson noted that they have resolved to compel district leaders to formulate policies which will help in preventing the vice.
