NRM Postpones Primary Elections in New Districts
The ruling National Resistance Movement Party has postponed primary elections in the newly created districts due to shortage of funds.
NRM was scheduled to conduct primaries for Women parliamentary and LC V chairperson candidates in Kassanda, Kikuube, Kwania, Kapelebyong, Bugweri and Nabilatuk on August 14.
The party was also scheduled to hold primaries for the Hoima district woman parliamentary candidate.
However, in a statement issued yesterday, the NRM Electoral Commission Chairperson, Tanga Odoi, says the polls have been called off until further notice.
