Museveni accepts to settle all pending Buganda Kingdom issues after meeting the Kabaka
President Museveni has held a closed door meeting with Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II at the king’s palace in Banda, Nakawa Division in Kampala.
In the meeting, Kabaka Mutebi was also flanked by Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, Prince David Wasajja, Emmanuel Ssendaula, Ambassador Bill Matovu, former cabinet minister Joyce Mpanga.The attorney general William Byaruhanga, and investment minister Evelyn Anite also attended the meeting.
The two men whose relationship has grown friendly since 2013 when Mayiga took office as the kingdom prime minister have discussed several issues relating to the 2013 memorandum of understanding.
In 2013, President Museveni and the Kabaka signed a memorandum of understanding in which he agreed to return all kingdom property and so far, about 200 titles have been given to the kingdom.
President Museveni now in a statement says they agreed that all pending issues involving the kingdom’s property, land and financial arrears be resolved Very soon.
