MPs want gov’t to withdraw incentives given to unserious investors
Members of Parliament have asked the government to withdraw incentives that they gave to some unserious investors at the Namanve Park in Kampala.
The MPs who had visited the largest steel plant in East Africa set up by Roofings at Namanve industrial park are concerned that some purported investors who were given free land at the government industrial park have done nothing.
The company has invested about one hundred and twenty million dollars and already employs almost 2,000 people at the new factory.
MP Stephen Mukitale has therefore called upon the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) to withdraw incentives and land from unserious investors and give it to those who are serious.
