MPs Reject Gov’t Statement on Arua Shooting
Members of Parliament have rejected a statement from Government explaining circumstances surrounding the murder of Yasin Kawuma, the driver of Robert Kyagulanyi, the Kyadondo East MP.
Addressing parliament yesterday, Internal Affairs Minister, Jeje Odongo blamed the chaos on opposition supporters whom he said obstructed and attacked the Presidential motorcade.
But MPs overwhelming rejected Odongo’s statement describing as shallow, saying it falls short of addressing several issues.
Medard Lubega Ssegona, the Busiiro East MP, said Government has not told the truth about the death of the driver, adding that even the details about the attempted attack on the president’s convoy are unclear.
