MP Ochola Attacks Minister Tadwong Over Reinstatement of Taxi Parking Fees
The Shadow Minister of Special Regions, Stephen Ochola has attacked the minister without portfolio and political mobilization Richard Tadwong for directing KCCA in particular to continue collecting Taxi parking fee of 120,000 shillings.
Mr Ochola told news reporters at parliament that the minister is forcing KCCA to collect Taxi parking fees yet the exercise was stopped by court.
He said that the minister’s directive is giving an attempt to overrule the court’s qualified judgment adding that the rule of law does not exist in Uganda but the will and whim of the powerful is all that counts.
“Article 1 of the constitution says that power belongs to the people. The coercive power of the state shall not, cannot and will not override the power of the people. Uganda will rise and demand what is due to them and when it happens, the state shall not stand” He noted
