MP Attacks Gov’t Over Non Increment of Teachers Salaries
Kasambya county MP Patrick Mulidwa says it will be unfair for government not to increase the salaries of civil servants especially teachers and health workers using the excuse that donors have pulled out their support in the next financial year.
Hon Mulindwa said that government committed its self to increase the salaries of civil servants especially teachers effective 2013/14 financial year.
Hon Mulidwa a member of the budget committee of parliament says it’s surprising that government has not made any commitment on the increment in the budget provisions, yet the ministry of finance has announced new revenue resources amounting to 383 billion shillings.
The MP recommended that the ministry of finance use part of the resources to increase the salaries of civil servants by at least 10% from the original commitment of 20%.
