Migos’ New Album ‘Culture 2’ Is Due Out in January
After letting fans wait for a long time, Migos has finally revealed when the group will be releasing their highly-anticipated second album “Culture 2”. In a new profile written by the New York Times, Quavo and his teammates stated that the new album would be out sometime in January.
The group’s upcoming album will be a follow-up to their hit album “Culture”, which topped Billboard 200 chart in February with 131,000 units in its first week of release. The tracks off the album also received similar success. Lead track “Bad & Boujee” topped Billboard Hot 100 chart, and the follow-up song, “T-Shirt”, peaked at No. 19 on the chart.
Ahead of the release of the upcoming album, Migos, who was formed in 2009, released the first single off the project entitled “MotorSports” featuring Nicki Minaj and Cardi B in October. The release of the track sparked controversy as it was reported that Nicki didn’t know that she would be included in the collaborative track. However, the raptress quickly took to Twitter to clear up the misunderstanding. The tweets were soon deleted, though.
“I was on the song with Quavo. No one else was on it. He called and asked if I think we should put Bardi on it, I said ‘Ok, let’s do it.’ The end,” she tweeted. “Migos weren’t even on it yet. Just Quavo. The conspiracy theories are just so tired. Relax, Breathe. Imagine me not knowing who on a song with me.”
She continued by saying that anything with her name on it must be approved by her and a song can’t even go onto a streaming service before she hears it and gives a written approval. She added that Migos really wanted to put Nicki on their song, thus she approved it. “These are men in our culture who simply refuse to let it go. They don’t do this to male M.C.’s. But yo #Motorsport #1 added on urban radio,” she continued.
