Mbarara Municipal Leaders, LC1 Chairmen at war over Central Market Lock-ups
There is war between Mbarara Municipal Mayor, Robert Mugabe Kakyebezi and the municipal LC1 Chairmen who are demanding to have a share on Lock-ups in the under construction Mbarara Central Market.
Over 200 chairmen from Mbarara municipality have threatened to attack Mayor and his Leadership on condition that they also be given a lock-up in Central Market.
In a closed meeting held at Mbarara Municipal School main hall with the Mbarara RDC, the chairmen attacked Mayor Kakyebezi to consider them as leaders on the ground if he wants elections in their LCs come 2021.
The chairmen also accuse the authorities of corruption in the way the market was rele4cated to Independence park, and Katete ward councilor in Nyamitanga division, Imam Kagiko says he had also been promised lock ups to keep quit.
However, Col. James Mwesigye told the chairmen that it is hard to give them the lock ups, adding that it would also be corruption.
