Mbarara to get a Cancer Center
Government is set to construct a cancer center in Mbarara soon. This was revealed by Sarah Byakika , the Commissioner of Planning in the Ministry of health while addressing journalists in Mbarara.
Byakika said that the centre which will cost gov’t 100million Euros(390Billion UShs) is meant to relieve patients of the burden to always go to the Uganda Cancer Institute which is most times overwhelmed the huge number of patients. She added that the facility will be erected on a two acre piece of land that was donated by Mbarara University of Science and Technology.
Uganda Cancer Institute senior Hospital Administrator, Richard Tumwesigye said other regional caner centers will be constructed in districts of Arua, Gulu and Mbale.
