Mbarara district Targets Rehabilitation of More Community Roads Next Financial Year 2018/2019
The Mbarara district local Government is expected to rehabilitate and construct many roads next financial year 2018/2019 due to the increase of road fund from central Government per financial year.
The Special duties in the Office of the District Chairperson Mbarara district in charge works, Tom Karuhanga said with the increase on the road fund in the next financial year 2018/2019 from shs 600m= to around shs 975m= more district and community roads will be improved for easy transportation of goods and services.
Karuhanga said this while commissioning the rehabilitation of Nyakaguruka-Ihunga-Kabutare road that connects Rugando and Ndeija sub-counties.
Speaking at the function the Mbarara district roads engineer William Byaruhanga said that this rehabilitation of this road is to take only 11 days and that is equivalent to 9½ km costing 11.4m asking for the collaboration of the community and the Government during this course.
While presiding over the function as guest of honor, the Rwampara County legislator Hon Charles Ngabirano urged the community to use these roads profitably and developmentally in order to uplift themselves from poverty.
Ngabirano urged them to carry out farming that will help them earn a living after being taken to the markets using those roads.
