Mbabazi’s family divided over presidential bid
Former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi is in hot soup ahead of the 2016 elections after it emerged that some family members would prefer that his presidential bid is withdrawn and blame Jacqueline Mbabazi for putting them in a mess.
The moderates blamed Mbabazi for challenging President Museveni without adequate preparations.
This was during the meeting of close friends, allies and relatives held on Tuesday night at Mbabazi’s plush residence along Nyonyi Gardens in the leafy suburb of Kololo, Kampala.
“The meeting was fire,” said a highly placed family source who attended the private function.
Mbabazi’s daughter Lenina Rukikaire Mbabazi alias Nina was reportedly the most vocal, arguing about how to apologise to President Museveni and how the family has been messed up.
