MAXIM EXTENDS MOTOCROSS LEAD AT GARUGA
Maxim Van Pee consolidated his lead in the second round of the National Motocross Championships, that climaxed on Sunday at Garuga Motocross Arena.
The MX1 class rider upstaged rivals Talha Kiggundu and 10 time champion Arthur Blick Junior, despite succumbing to a terrible fall, battling to catch up with Talha Kiggundu, who doubles as an MX1 and MX2 rider.
“Talha was far ahead, so I had to use a lot of speed,” Maxim said. “I fell down badly after the jump and I was lucky someone didn’t come right behind me.” “At least I have not been injured.”
Talha’s sibling, Fatuh Kiggundu earned top spot in MX2, defeating Harm Kamstra and Micheal Ntayiro who finised 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Top riders will now be chosen, basing on this second round performance, to represent Uganda in the Africa Central Motocross Championship due 19th to 20th April, at Uganda Motorsport Arena, Busiika.
