Low Student Turn Up Characterises Beginning of Term One In Ibanda District
As Schools opened for first term across the country da today, there was low turn up of pupils and students Ibanda district.Speaking to our reporter after monitoring schools, Ibanda district Inspector of Schools, Nsiimire Peter said, it seems some parents have denied children to go to school today due to lack of scholastic materials to use, the act which he condemned saying that it contributes to poor performance of children.
He also revealed that some parents have resorted to changing pupils from one school to another which he says they will not keep quiet about.
Among schools visited we visited were Rwomuhoro p/s, Kabingo, Crain, Kanoni,Mabonywa, St. Timothy, St. Andrews, Mpasha, Kibubura Girls and many
congested full of learners with their parents turning back to different schools for first term.
However, all streets and roads of Kamwenge- Ibanda- Mbarara, Ibanda- Kazo
have been busy with parents seen struggling to get taxis to have their children report for the first term of the new year school calender.
