Lands Minister issued last warning to appear before the Land Probe Commission
The Commission of Inquiry into Land Matters has issued Criminal Summons to the Minister of Lands Betty Amongi to appear before it on 7th/May without fail.
This after the Minister failed to comply with the witness summons the Commission issued to her last week, and has not given any reasonable explaination as to why she cannot appear.
According to the Commission’s Acting Secretary Doctor Douglas Singiza, should the Minister fail to appear on the scheduled date without sufficient cause, she will have committed a crime punishable by Law.
Among, is wanted before the Commission to explain the line Minister’s role in handling the Land Fund, issues relating to AMOBET Investment Ltd and Handling of disputes related to property on Plot 29 Acacia Avenue,Kololo.
This follows complaints made to the Commission, that instead of the rightful claimants to be compensated for their land, its conmen benefitting from the Lund fund.
