Kakyeka LC1 chairman cries foul over security laxity in the area
Kakyeka LC1 chairperson, Abdu Kyambadde , blames security laxity in the area, with some residents refusing to pay security fees for Local Defence Units (LDUs) to man the security in the area. Speaking to Croozefm, Kyambadde says the decision was reached, following several meetings with other security personnel, including Mbarara district police commander and DISO . He says the meetings resolved that all tenants who refuse the directive to pay the 1000 shilling fee, shall be reported to the LC executive , but also to expel from the cell landlords who refuse to comply and introduce their tenants to the LC1 office. However, to date, his office has failed to hit their target of 600,000shillings needed to pay the 4 LDU’s.
Kyambadde pointed out some of the black spots , and calls for extreme vigilance. Meanwhile, Some residents we spoke to about the fee expressed mixed feelings on the matter
