Kadaga Warns Buhweju Residents Against Early Marriages
The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has warned Buhweju residents against early marriages which are on an increase in the area.
Kadaga was speaking yesterday as chief guest at the belated Women’s day celebrations for Buhweju District held at Nsiika town council play ground.
She asked men to resist from marrying underage girls noting the young girls should be left to study and finish their education.
Meanwhile, Kadaga reechoed President Yoweri Museveni’s call on men to stop beating their wives.
During the same function, Kadaga commissioned an Ambulance which was donated by the area MP Francis Mwijukye to Nsiika health center IV specifically for expectant mothers as well as an Ultra Scan which was donated by the area Woman MP Olive Koyekyenga
In his remarks, MP Mwijukye urged expectant mothers to always go for antenatal checkups for delivery of health babies.
Olive Koyekyenga, the area Woman MP urged government to increase funding for Primary Health Care (PHC) so that health center three’s and two’s can also be operational and help in fighting simple illnesses.
