Kadaga Urges EALA MPs to Work with Local Parliaments
The speaker of Uganda parliament Rebecca Kadaga has recommended president Museveni for his role to provide the conducive environment for EAC assembly.
While giving her remarks at the official opening of the 6th meeting of the 1st session of the 3rd East African legislative Assembly (EALA), speaker Kadaga called upon EALA speaker Margret Zziwa to steer the East African Assembly to achieve the desired unification of the East Africa.
She further said that she is looking forward to work with the new leadership of the Republic of Kenya most especially the national parliament to ensure first trucking of the East Africa community through members of both parliaments.
Kadaga however remained the Assembly the problem of non tariff barriers which are hindering free movement of goods which is very essential for the local people in the EAC member’s state who are supposed to be the long term beneficiary in the community.
She urged members of the EAC to closely work with local parliament in their respective countries to address the issues that affect the people in the region.
