Kabale Pilgrims Starts On Their Journey to Namugongo
Over 90 pilgrims have started on their journey from Kabale to Namugongo ahead of martyr’s day celebrations held every year on 3rd June.
Singing and cheering, the pilgrims first walked through the streets of Kabale Municipality before they started the 420 kilometres journey.
The pilgrims comprise 60 men and 34 women aged between 25 to 66 years are from the districts of Kisoro, Kabale and others from neighbouring countries of Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo.
They started their journey at Rushoroza cathedral where they were flagged off by Kabale Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator.
Rev. Fr. Bruno Byomuhangi urged the pilgrims to use their journey in renewing their faith.
The pilgrims are exected to spend two weeks before getting to Namugongo martyr’s shrine.
