Internal Affairs Ministry Resumes Issuing Passports
The ministry of internal affairs has resumed the normal operations in issuance of passports to the public. Government in June 2017 stopped the issuing of ordinary passports after it announced that they had run short of ordinary passports arguing applicants to wait until the problem is rectified.
However, according to apress statement issued today by the directorate of citizenship and immigration control at internal affairs, the normal operations have started.
The ministry is set to clear the backlog that has been caused due to low stock assuring that this will take only two weeks as well as processing the new passports for the new applicants. The proven emergency passport applications will also continue to be given the urgency they require.
