High Price of Condoms hindering their use in Uganda – Health partners.
Health partners in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Uganda have asked government to slash condom prices to zero so that all people can afford it.
According to Henry Magala who is the country programs director for Uganda Cares, affordability of condoms is vital but some people have failed to use these life guards because of the money required to purchase them.
Currently, the cheapest single condom sachet in Uganda goes for UGX.2000 which a low earning Ugandan can’t afford and this makes accessibility and affordability difficult.
With a total population of forty people, Ugandan consists of approximately 1.4 million people living with HIV/AIDS, women & girls in particular disproportionately affected.
