Government assures protection to Corruption whistle-blowers
As government continues to grapple with corruption, the public has been relieved of the fears that they could be hurt should their identity be revealed as whistle-blower
A whistle-blower is a person who exposes any kind of information or activity that is deemed illegal, unethical, or not correct within an organization that is either private or public.
Although Uganda enacted the Whistle Blowers Protection ACT, 2010, to protect them, many still fear to volunteer information to the government in regard to corruption, for fear that they might be killed or harmed by corrupt officials if they find out.
However, in an exclusive interview with Croozefm, the Mbarara district deputy RDC, Emmy Katera Turyabagyenyi says anyone who volunteer information, will have his or her name withheld.
