Gareth Bale ‘set to be subject of £60million offer from Real Madrid’
Gareth Bale is wanted by a host of clubs across Europe
Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to launch a summer assault on Tottenham to sign Gareth Bale, with the Spanish giants thought to be readying a £60million bid.
Madrid have been keen on Bale all season, with the Welsh wizard attracting numerous suitors across Europe thanks to his stunning form which saw him crowned both PFA Player and Young Player of the Year.
Spurs are not thought to be willing to let their star man leave White Hart Lane, but Madrid are allegedly ready to test their resolve with an initial offer of £60m.
Former galactico Zinedine Zidane – who now has an ambassadorial role at the Bernabeu – yesterdayadmitted the Spanish side are keen to take Bale to the capital, revealing he had been to watch Spurs on several occasions to keep an eye on the 23-year-old.
Bale himself has not indicated whether he wants to seek an exit from Tottenham and it remains possible he would want to stay in north London for one more season in an attempt to guide Andre Villas-Boas’ men into the Champions League.
But the decision could be out of his hands should Spurs chairman Daniel Levy be tempted by the big money on offer.
