Florent Malouda finally ‘free’ from Chelsea shackles
Florent Malouda has not played for Chelsea since last season
Chelsea outcast Florent Malouda is finally set to depart Stamford Bridge after a year in the shadows in west London.
The Frenchman is remaining quiet over his next destination, but has confirmed his six-year stay at Chelsea will come to an end this summer.
‘I had a problem to sort out with certain people. It’s done. Now, I’m free. I’m going to be able to play again next season. I’ve been preparing all season long,’ said the 32-year-old.
‘I’ve let people speak. I’m patient and very determined. I’ll be back next season. I already know where, but I’m not saying anything for the moment. Anything is possible.’
Malouda came off the bench to help the Blues lift the Champions League trophy in Munich last May, but has not been seen in a Chelsea shirt since, having fallen out of favour with the club’s hierarchy.
The former Lyon player confirmed his Stamford Bridge exit on Twitter, thanking fans for their support.
‘I received a lot of supportive messages from CFC fans recently !! Thanks for everything& don’t worry for me, I’m proud of my blue Time,’ he wrote.
