Expelled NRM Rebel MPs Camp at Constitutional Court in Fear of Eviction
Three of the expelled NRM rebel MPs on Thursday camped at the constitutional court with the aim to defy any move by the NRM party to evict them from parliament .
The reported eviction plot stemmed from a Constitutional petition which was filed by Kibuku County MP Saleh Kamba and Marym Agasha, opposing Kadaga’s ruling which favoured the expelled MPs.
The three legislators who include Theodore Ssekikubo (Lwemiyaga County), Barnabas Tinkasimire (Buyaga west) and Wilfred Niwagaba (Ndorwa East) while at the court vowed to protest any intended eviction .
They were accompanied by retired Supreme Court judge George Kanyeihamba and lawyer Nicholas Opiyo. They met registrar Erias Kisawuzi in his office, to seek clarification on whether court had scheduled to hear an application for an interim injunction barring them from accessing Parliament.
The MPs said they were tipped that the application was to be heard with only one party represented, which they said was illegal .Kisawuzi however told the ‘afraid’ MPs that he had not yet received any direction on the matter.
