David de Gea: Manchester United players can’t wait to work with ‘great’ David Moyes
Happy: David de Gea has welcomed the arrival of David Moyes
David de Gea has hailed the appointment of David Moyes as Manchester United manager and says he cannot wait to starting working with him.
Moyes has taken up the reigns at Old Trafford following Sir Alex Ferguson’s decision to retire, ending his 27 year tenure at the club.
And for goalkeeper De Gea, who improved greatly in the last 12 months under Ferguson’s guidance, there is excitement as to what Moyes can bring to the table.
‘We are saddened by the departure of Ferguson, but in comes another great coach,’ said De Gea.
‘He brings a different style of play, so we will try to follow along the same lines and with the same tone.
‘We’re just waiting now for David Moyes to come back here and we can see how it is working under him and his methods.’
Moyes will formally take charge at United on July 1st, but has already moved into his office at their Carrington training centre and began work assembling his coaching staff.
It’s thought that Phil Neville, Steve Round and Gary Woods are all set to come in within days, after the likes of Mike Phelan, Eric Steele and Rene Meulensteen were all sacked.
Sir Alex’s brother, Martin Ferguson, is also set to leave as chief scout.
