Climate Change Legislation in the Final Stages-Government
Government says effective May this year, the climate change Legislation will be in place.
The legislation which is in the offing is meant to protect the ecosystems threatened by population pressures and erosion that affect dependents on natural space.
The Director Climate change department at the ministry of Water and environment Chebet Maikuti says the drafting of the bill has been finalized and within this week the cabinet will approve it and then it will be presented to parliament to be enacted into law.
He says for a long the country has been waiting this law, which is going to help much as far as addressing issues of climate is concerned.
