Chinese National Remanded to Luzira for selling sub-standard second-hand underwear
Buganda Road court has remanded a Chinese National to Luzira prison for allegedly selling sub-standard second hand underwear. Zhang Keliang appeared before Grade one magistrate, Marion Mangeni and denied 2 counts of selling and being in possession of second hand clothes which are not in conformity with the code of practise for inspection and acceptance criteria for used textile products. Zhang was arrested on 27th/April this year from his shop at Kafumbe Mukasa road with 17 bales of clothes containing sub-standard Bras and other under garments.
This followed an operation by Uganda National Bureau of Standards Officials on all Chinese shops.
He returns to court on Monday next week for his bail application.
