Chico Flores ‘threatened Swansea team-mate with a brick’ during training row.
Swansea defender Chico Flores tried to attack team-mate Garry Monk with a brick in a furious training ground row, according to reports.
The Spanish defender picked up the brick and threatened Monk during a heated argument on Friday, before the police were called.
Sources report that the argument started because of growing divisions between the British and Spanish players that largely make up Michael Laudrup’s squad.
It’s claimed that Monk verbally abused Chico following a tackle on the training pitch, before a huge row broke out between the pair.
As Chico picked up the brick, the mother of a Swansea youth team player arrived at the training ground and ended up calling police.
South Wales Police confirmed they were called to the training centre, but left the issue in the hands of Swansea’s management to deal with.
‘Police were called to the training ground at around 1.30pm on Friday 17 January. Club officials were spoken to and no police action was required.’
Swansea have confirmed an incident took place between Chico and Monk, but say ‘it has now been resolved’.
