Cesc Fabregas rules out transfer to Manchester United or Arsenal
No deal: Cesc Fabregas has ruled out joining Manchester United
Cesc Fabregas says he will snub intereste from Manchester United and Arsenal to stay at Barcelona this summer.
The 26-year-old had emerged as a key summer target for both United and former club Arsenal, amid reports that he had become unsettled with life in Spain.
But after meeting with Barca manager Tito Vilanova to discuss his future this week, Fabregas says he plans to remain at the Nou Camp.
‘There is nothing to say,’ said Fabregas when asked about recent transfer talk.
‘I’m very happy at Barca, and I want to stay for many more years to come.’
The comments will come as a crushing blow to both United and Arsenal, with David Moyes believed to have made the pass-master a top target while Arsene Wenger hinted this week he would be interested in bringing his former player back to the Premier League.
However, Fabregas’ meeting with Vilanova has seemingly swayed the balance, with the player desperate to have guaranteed first-team football ahead of the World Cup next year.
Fabregas still has three years left on his Barca contract.
