Canada threatens to end ties with Uganda if President Museveni signs Anti Homosexuality bill
The government of Canada has threatened to end diplomatic ties with Uganda if President Museveni assents to the Anti Homosexuality bill.
Alintuma Nsambu ,the Ugandan Ambassador who confirmed this said he was summoned by the Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister on Monday.
Canada asserts that the bill ,if signed, will have serious human rights implications.
Uganda has thus been advised to protect bisexual, transgender, lesbian and gay people.
The warning comes days after US President Barack Obama’s warning that enacting the law would foil relations with the US.
