Bufumbira East MP asks residents not to strike over bad roads
Bufumbira East MP Dr James Nsababuturo has urged Kisoro residents to stay calm and suspend their planned protest over five tourism roads in the district that are impassable.
This he said after residents who use the Kisoro-Nyarusiza-Muhabuura tourism road threatened to block it and four other roads accusing Uganda National Roads Authority-UNRA of neglecting them.
The other roads in a sorry state, include, the Kisoro-Nyabwishenya-Nteko road, the Nyabwishenya-Rubuguri road, the Mgahinga-Nteko and Karengyere by-pass which have potholes hence affecting trade and the tourism industry.
Nsababuturo says UNRA has already committed itself to construct the roads to boost tourism and farmers to transport their produce.
