Bruno Mars and Cardi B to Collaborate Onstage at the 2018 Grammy Awards
The Recording Academy announced on Wednesday, January 10, more musicians to perform at the upcoming 2018 Grammy Awards. Among them are Bruno Mars and Cardi B, who will make her Grammys debut.
Bruno and Cardi are scheduled to perform a medley of their hit songs, including their latest collaborative track “Finesse”, which was released last week along with its companion retro music video. The Bronx raptress is also set to perform her debut song “Bodak Yellow”.
Bruno, who is the third most nominated artist of the night after Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar, has earned six nominations including Album of the Year and Best R&B Album for his third studio album “24K Magic”. The 32-year-old singer is also in the running for Song of the Year Award for “That’s What I Like”. Cardi, on the other hand, scores two nods including Best Rap Song for “Bodak Yellow”.
Besides Bruno and Cardi, the organization behind the event revealed that Alessia Cara, Khalid and Logic would team up for a performance, taking the stage with a group of suicide attempt and lost survivors in a special rendition of “1-800-273-8355”. Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, Ke$ha and SZA are also slated to perform at the annual event.
SZA, who is another Grammy first-timer, receives five nominations this year, including Best New Artist and Best Urban Contemporary Album for her debut effort “CTRL”. Ke$ha also earns her first ever Grammy nominations this year, despite being active in the music industry for years. She is vying for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Praying” and Best Pop Vocal Album for “Rainbow”. Luis and Yankee, meanwhile, score three nods including Song of the Year for “Despacito” featuring Justin Bieber.
Previously announced performers include Childish Gambino a.k.a Donald Glover, Lady GaGa, Little Big Town and Pink. Television personality James Corden will host the ceremony, which will take place at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday, January 28.
