Bruce wants to bring Figueroa, Austin and Odemwingie in to bolster promoted Hull
Hull City are launching a bid to sign Wigan free agent Maynor Figueroa.
The Honduran, 30, is out of contract and was due to sign for West Ham next month. Manager Sam Allardyce was interested despite knowing he was due to sign another left back, Razvan Rat, from Shakhtar Donetsk.
But with resources needed for deals elsewhere, West Ham have now opted to concentrate on other targets and that will allow Hull to step in.
Manager Steve Bruce knows Figueroa from his time in charge at Wigan but may struggle to convince him Hull is his best option.
Bruce is also keen on Charlie Austin at Burnley and West Brom’s Peter Odemwingie. But he looks to have missed out on Blackpool defender Alex Baptiste, who is set to sign a three-year deal with Bolton.
