Bamugemereire Summons Kiryandongo DPC, RDC Over Land Grabbing
The commission of inquiry into land matters has summoned District police commander [DPC] Kiryandongo District Charles Okello to come and explain why he participates or connives with land grabbers to evict people from their bibanja.
Okello is expected to appear together with Resident District Commissioner [RDC] also Kiryandongo district LinosNgopeki who is also named in these illegal evictions.
According to the summons signed by commission’s chairperson Catherine Bamugemeire the two are supposed to appear on Wednesday 14th March 2018.
All these after hundreds of homeless people from Kiryandongo district gathered at the land commission in Wandegeya seeking to be helped from these alleged land grabbers.
The residents yesterday filed complaints before the commission claiming that DPC Okello and RDC Ngopeki connived with an American national Philip Prinz who is the owner of Agillis and Partners Company and KK Company to evict them from their land.
They added that their villages including KimogoraLC1, Commission village, Namutende villages are now turned into a police barracks and over 200 houses were burnt by unknown people.
