Bamugemereire directs Registrar of Land Titles to Resign
The Justice Catherine Bamugemereire’s Land Commission of Inquiry has told the Senior Registrar of Titles in the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development Rowera Ataro Bogerere to submit a resignation letter to her bosses for fraudulently issuing titles on Buzirimiti Central Forest Reserve.
Appearing before the commission today at Wandegeya, Ataro has been grilled for issuing 16 land titles to 10 government officials at central forest reserve in Saayi on block 561 Kyaggwe Goma division Mukono district after she allegedly received a bribe from the beneficiaries.
Last year, Ataro was arrested by police on orders of Bamugemereire after she was found of having issued land titles in Kijabijo wetland in Wakiso district.
Today, Ataro admitted of her several mistakes in issuing these titles but denied receiving bribes from the clients though she was pinned by the Assistant Commissioner for Electoral Engineering in the Ministry of Works and Transport George Clement Kidega for asking and receiving 10mshs to process his titles for 510acres on the said land.
