Angry Residents Storm State Attorney’s Office Over Release of Murder Suspects
This morning, a group of residents led by the Rwamucucu Sub County LC V councilor stormed the office of the Kabale Resident State Attorney to express their dissatisfaction after the release of two prime suspects in the murder of a crime preventer.
Deus Twinomugisha was strangled to death on September 08, 2017 and his body dumped along the footpath, about two Kilometers from his home as he was heading to Nyarurambi trading center to socialize with his peers.
Following his death, Police picked up Barrack Ntegyereize, Ambrose Mugabirwe, Desire Mwebaze and Gerald Karugaba, all resident of the same area as prime suspects and locked them at Rukiga Police Station. They were later moved to Kabale Police Station. On Saturday, police released Ntegyereize and Mugabirwe and retained Mwebaze and Karugaba. The release of the duo hasn’t gone down well with the residents.
