Kabale District Woman MP asks parents to monitor their children during the holiday
- Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament Catherine Ndamira Atwakire has advised parents and guardians to monitor their children in the holiday such that they get guidance against the influence of bad peers.Atwakire gave the advice yesterday during the fundraising function of the construction of Kagunga Technical School in Kahondo parish in Maziba Sub County Kabale district.
The legislator said when children enter adolescence, they become curious and begin to pick attitudes and characters from their peers which could affect their future negatively.
- Speaking on the same function, the Chairman Board of Governors of Kagunga Technical School, Rev. Can. Steven Torwomwe, called on students to embrace vocational skills saying this will help to address
unemployment which is a great challenge among the youth.
- At the fundraising a total of 13.6 million shillings in both cash and pledges and 16 bags of cement was collected and Atwakire contributed one million shillings towards the construction of the technical school.She also contributed 1.4 million shillings to the four churches in Kagunga church of Uganda parish to help in the construction activities in the churches.
