Uganda road fund has released over 127 billion shillings for road maintenance to different agencies including KCCA, UNRA and local governments for quarter four of the financial year 2017/18.
Board Member Uganda Road Fund, Nathan Byanyima says that this disbursement reflects 31% of the Uganda Road Fund annual roads maintenance budget of 406.7 billion for the financial year 2017/18.
Byanyima says that the funds disbursed will facilitate routine and periodic maintenance, road safety works, ferry operations, road materials and operational expenses among others

Executive Director Uganda Road Fund Michael Odong says that a total of five districts that include Kibaale, Kiruhura, Rubanda, Kyenjojo, Nakaseke and two municipalities of Busia and Kamuli did not submit their accountabilities for the financial year 2017/18 and their funds have been withheld.
